Exploring the whole sides of Yogyakarta, travelers may have the natural sight of its local hospitality along the Malioboro and Traditional Market of Beringharjo. Even travelers can hike the ruins to Mount Merapi (Volcano) that had its eruption in 2010. Yogyakarta becomes the most attractive destination today. The latest news mentioned that Adisutjipto International Airport in Yogyakarta now becomes one of the busiest airport in Indonesia. The government is on planning build the new one, located in Kulonprogo regency, as New Yogyakarta International Airport.
Vice President Jusuf Kalla said Yogyakarta's new international airport in the Kulonprogo regency will provide a significant effect to the city's tourism and economy. The Jakarta Post reported the airport's construction will start on the early 2016 as it was an urgent matter.
"[The construction] is urgent [because it concerned Yogyakarta's] tourism and economy," said Kalla after a meeting with Yogyakarta Governor Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono X in the Yogyakarta, reported on November 27 2015.
During the meeting, Yogyakarta Development and Planning Agency head, Tavip Agus Rayanto, said that Kalla requested the city government to prepare a list of infrastructure requirements involving transportation network to the airport, especially related to tourism.
