joglo city and its existence

Indonesia has many historical relics of the kingdom. One of them is the area of Kotagede in Yogyakarta. This old city, was once the center of the Islamic Empire Mataram in the 16th century, is even becoming a tourist destination, domestic and abroad. Unfortunately, Joglo (ancient house where a javanese family lives) and some historical heritage are increasingly diminished. Based on the Kanthil Foundation record, Kotagede had more than 250 homes considered as historical heritage. Including the Limasan, it is like a pyramid, there are estimated at 400 old Javanese house. Since 1985 to 2005, at least 20 houses lost or sold out of Kotagede area. The government has suggested (citizen or society) that the house be part of Kotagede revitalization discourse not sold. But in fact, some are sold and taken out Kotagede. Meanwhile, there are some joglo damaged by the 2006 earthquake.
