Bishops Respond to Violence in Yogyakarta

Yogyakarta is a city in Indonesia, which is known as cultural city and town students. Additionally, Yogyakarta is a world famous destination like Bali. The city has diverse cultures and people from different ethnic races and religions.
Harmony of life in this city has put Yogyakarta or Jogja as The City of Tolerance. This is reflected in all moments and events in Jogja that always involve all citizens of all ethnicities, races, and religions. What a peaceful and safe city to destinations both foreign and domestic tourists.

However, in recent times the violence occurred in Yogyakarta. Some of them even smelled intolerance. Violence was done by people who do not like the religious activities of other groups.
On Wednesday (04/06/2014), Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Semarang (Central Java) even came to Yogyakarta Palace,  meet Sri Sultan HB X. Semarang Archbishop Mgr Johannes Maria Trilaksyanta Pujasumarta respond and deliver the message to the governor of the Special Region of Yogyakarta / Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta (DIY) to immediately resolve the issue.
Bishop judge, who dragged the issue of violence has hurt the religious status of Yogyakarta as the City of Tolerance. He hoped Yogyakarta guarded from attitudes of intolerance like that.

Other violence is attack a church in Sleman, Sunday (06/01/2014). The group of attacker considers the church in Panggukan, Tridadi village, sub-district of Sleman, unwarranted. They protested that it was not a licensed place of worship.
The violence also received responses from various groups. Yogyakarta Governor Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono X urged police to process the assault case law.
Forum for Religious Harmony (FKUB) and the National Human Rights Commission also spoke about the case. Analysts even rate of violence in the city of tolerance is not all always smelling of religious issues. There is a possibility that violence political. Opinion was probably true because Indonesia is ahead of the presidential election.
